Day 45 (lock down)

Thursday 7th May - bike **** - Felixstowe to Levington Marina – Sunny and warm.

It was another sunny, warm day with only a gentle breeze here in Felixstowe so we thought we would make the most of it with another bike ride thinking as it is VE Day and a Bank Holiday tomorrow there might be more people about so will stay home tomorrow. So a day like many before, exercises in the garden, pack a sandwich and head off to Levington Marina stopping at an elderly friend enroute to drop some things off and admire her wisteria:) We spot a couple of hare and then as we cycled through the tree arches three deer run across the path right in front of Mag:) The tide was high on the River Orwell and the dead trout had been removed from Loompit Lake. There were several people out and about walking and the ducks still had all their youngsters. We got our seat in the BBQ area but there was not much wildlife just the odd noisy Oyster Catcher and Orange tipped butterfly. We had a nice chat with the dog walker we meet at Goslings Fishing lakes the other day out with his wife and lovely dog Oscar! Then we meet another couple we know so had another catch up with them! It was very pleasant sitting in the warm sunshine but it was time to head for home over the fields and along by the railway lines, in fact we saw three trains on today’s ride!
I was getting excited as Boris is talking to the Nation this Sunday with the promise of unlimited exercise as I was going to put my foil back together and quick out my windsurfing gear in the hope of getting out this coming Monday, now the Government seem to be backtracking or perhaps the dreadful press got ahead of themselves and am not so sure now, will just have to wait and see what the PM has to say???
We got some sad news this afternoon when I learned that Suffolk Sail from Woodbridge are closing down due to the present situation, they have been repairing my sails for several years. In fact, Simon delivered my patched up 7.8 and had a nice chat. So I would just like to wish Simon and Matt from Suffolk Sails all the best for the future!
